About GSDA

The Hellenic Data Analysis Society (GDAS) was founded in 2001, based in Thessaloniki, by Professor (Emeritus) I. Papadimitriou of the University of Macedonia, Iannis Papadimitriou. It is a non-profit scientific association with over 100 members who have postgraduate and doctoral degrees in Data Analysis and Statistics and/or related fields.


  1. The development and dissemination of methods of Data Analysis and Multivariate Statistical Analysis, such as Principal Components Analysis, Factor Analysis, Factor Analysis of Correlations, Normal Analysis, Symbolic Analysis, Covariance Statistics, Discriminant Analysis, Cluster Analysis and new fields that can be developed based on relevant international advances in statistical science.
  2. Participation in the interdisciplinary and inter-statistical dialogue as well as scientific contacts and cooperation with Greek and international organisations and movements and with representatives of scientific associations and bodies.
  3. The participation and representation of the Greek Data Analysis Society in relevant international companies and organizations.
